Job description

Executive Assistant, Environment America

The Executive Office of Environment America seeks an Assistant, based in Denver, Colorado. We are looking for a smart, committed, and detail-oriented candidate to join our team to assist the in managing the daily operations of the organization and in long-term planning. This position will also work directly with the leadership of PIRG and The Public Interest Network.

Environment America is a national network of 30 state environmental groups with one mission — to change our country and our world to be a greener, healthier place. With more than 2 million members and supporters spread across all 50 states, our staff have been working for nearly four decades to promote national, state and local policies that put the earth first. For example, we’ve won policies that have resulted in more solar and wind power in 25 states, passage of the 2020 Great America Outdoors Act, America’s most sweeping conservation law in decades, and better protections for our rivers, streams, lakes and drinking water. We run campaigns that not only raise awareness but win results on the national stage, in states and cities, on the ballot and in the courtroom.

Environment America is part of The Public Interest Network, which supports and operates more than a dozen nonprofit advocacy groups. At The Public Interest Network, we take a principled, pragmatic approach in our work. We connect big ideas to concrete policy changes that improve the quality of our environment and people’s lives. We’re transpartisan — we want to reach everyone who might agree with us from across the political spectrum. We value dialogue over polarization. We are clear about what our mission is, and we stick to it. We invest in people and strategies that deliver results — we are advocates, lobbyists, campaigners, litigators, policy researchers and grassroots organizers.

Our Executive Assistant helps us make all of this happen. They work closely with the Network’s leadership team to decide and drive priorities, and provide guidance and backup support to our groups.

If our vision for a better world excites you, then we hope you will apply.
