Job description

Fundraising Schedule Coordinator

Fund for the Public Interest is hiring a smart and motivated organizer to oversee the schedule and strategy for keeping our citizen members involved and engaged in our campaign work. This position is housed within our Membership Services department. As a nonprofit, our citizen members are critical to our ability to win campaigns. This job is focused on deepening the connections that our members have to the organizations. The Coordinator will maintain current affinity projects; dig deep into reports on what keeps our members engaged, make recommendations for changes, and analyze & improve the content we use to contact our members.

Fund for the Public Interest is a national, non-profit organization that runs campaigns for America’s leading environmental and public interest organizations. Since 1982, the Fund has helped engage people on the most pressing problems of our day and turn that support into meaningful social change. It’s our members that give us people power, and that’s what it takes to make a difference for the environment, for our democracy, and more.

We work with groups in the Public Interest Network, including the state Public Interest Research Groups, U.S. PIRG, state environmental groups in 29 states, Environment America, Environmental Action, Center for Public Interest Research, Fund for the Public Interest Foundation, Community Action Works, Green Corps, and the National Environmental Law Center.

Representative Responsibilities:

As Fundraising Schedule Coordinator you will oversee our fundraising schedule and strategy, including:

Oversee ongoing member affinity pieces for content and timeliness, editing & drafting as needed to improve them.
Oversee the Fundraising Schedule and strategy for how and when we’re contacting our members.
Evaluate the ideal member experience and adjust the fundraising schedule accordingly.
Evaluate which campaigns are most effective for which members and outreach methods.
Recommend outreach content, perhaps even writing or drafting some appeals.
Review and improve our member inquiry responses to make sure we are all answering member questions as quickly as possible.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants need to be analytic and detail oriented, with the ability to turn reports into action, be able to manage projects independently and show excellent judgment and discretion. Excellent writing skills and strong customer service instincts are also needed. Applicants should be driven by the idea of building a nonprofit organization and show a demonstrated commitment to social change, and an appreciation of the importance of organizing.

Relevant administrative, project management or networking experience, preferably in an activist, nonprofit or political organization a plus but not a requirement. An ideal candidate has at least 2-5 years of professional experience.
