Work for Progress was started by a group of committed activists in the early part of 2008, to help activist-minded jobseekers connect with progressive campaigns and organizations. In the excitement of the presidential primaries, it became clear to us that individuals who wanted to engage in the political process needed one place to find jobs with progressive campaigns and organizations.
But our work for progress did not end there. Many important issues face our country. We connect dedicated, talented individuals with a passion for social change to the nonprofit organizations that need them. If you are looking for meaningful work or have a job to fill, we can help you.
Although our primary focus is recruiting staff, Work for Progress also serves as the employer for campaigns. In 2008, Work for Progress partnered with Progressive Future and Environment America, and hired and managed several hundred salaried staff as well as thousands of paid canvassers, who registered voters, conducted a voter persuasion project, and a focused get-out-the-vote drive. In 2012, we worked with Fair Share Alliance and the Community Voter Project.
In 2014, we are working with the Community Voters Project and Colorado Fair Share.
