Job description

Effective activists aren’t born, they’re trained. The Public Interest Network trains hundreds of professional and volunteer results-oriented activists every year; we train in the craft of organizing and advocacy.

We’re looking for a Training Center Associate Director who can help us provide our staff with high-quality training, promote our training program throughout the larger public interest community, and expand our program in the years to come.

Over the past 45 years, our trainees have worked on hundreds of projects and campaigns at the local, state, national and corporate levels. Because of the laws and other policies we’ve won, people are buying healthier and safer products, getting more of our energy from the sun and the wind, drinking cleaner water and breathing cleaner air. They have become leaders of Environment America, USPIRG, Fair Share, Greenpeace, Green Corps, MoveOn, the Sierra Club and many other organizations. We currently invest over 200 hours of training per year per staff person-we’re looking to deepen the impact of those hours and reach out to even more people, beyond our staff and volunteer base.

3. Fundraising to support the Training Center
