Climate Defender

From droughts and wildfires in the west to heat waves and Superstorms like Sandy in the east, extreme weather fueled by global warming is happening now and it’s hitting us at home.  2016 is on track to be the hottest year on record, and in Pennsylvania, nearly 9 out of 10 people live in areas that were listed as federal disaster zones due to extreme weather between 2007 and 2013.

We know what we need to do: we need to get to net zero climate pollution by 2050 by stop burning fossil fuels and moving to 100% renewable energy.

Environment America is seeking an experienced campaigner to run our Conservation Team Program. Over 280 million people visited our national parks last year: places like Yellowstone and the Blue Ridge Parkway, which are a big part of what makes this country so great. Yet last year Congress voted to slash funding for all of our parks–a move that would leave our best places with less protection against pollution, logging and overdevelopment. These places deserve better. It’s up to us to protect them for the next generation.
