Climate Defender

From droughts and wildfires in the west to heat waves and Superstorms like Sandy in the east, extreme weather fueled by global warming is happening now and it’s hitting us at home.  2016 is on track to be the hottest year on record, and in Pennsylvania, nearly 9 out of 10 people live in areas that were listed as federal disaster zones due to extreme weather between 2007 and 2013.

We know what we need to do: we need to get to net zero climate pollution by 2050 by stop burning fossil fuels and moving to 100% renewable energy.

Through Environment Nevada, we’re working to protect the air, water and land that we all love. From Red Rock Canyon National Park to Lake Tahoe, Nevada’s special places are worth protecting. Recently, we won a major victory when President Obama restored clean water protections to more than half of the nation’s streams, which feed drinking water sources for one in three Americans. Now, we’re working to bring more solar power to Nevada and make sure that Senator Cortez Masto stands up against President Trump’s environmental rollbacks.
